Is your life full, but your spirit empty? Do you feel too worn out and overwhelmed to pursue your passion?
Somewhere along the journey you may have compromised your values. Your values directly relate to who you are, what type of business you run, and how you show up in the world.
When your values get compromised or out of alignment, everything around you can become a bit wonky. I don't even know if 'wonky' is a real word, but that's the best way to describe how I feel when I'm not in alignment with my own values and purpose.
Here are a few symptoms you might be experiencing if you have 'sold out' on your values:
· You may feel overwhelmed most days
· Your days become filled with things you don't want to do
· Joy and excitement have disappeared from you life
· You've taken on responsibilities you never wanted
So how did you get here and is there a way out?
Indeed there is. Worn out women on overload will often times also see it affecting their marriages, children, careers, friendships, and businesses. But there is hope. No matter how stressed and overwhelmed you might feel, you can experience the fulfilling life God has planned for you, even if you can't remember what that looks like anymore.
Take a few minutes to write down all the words that describe what your values are; those things that are non-negotiable’s in your life. Then rank them in order of importance and list your Top 5 Values. My Top 5 Values are Authenticity, Faith, Integrity, Beauty, Purpose. When my life or business veers off path, it usually means that I am not fully operating within the framework of my core values.
Now put your Top 5 Values on an index card and tape it up somewhere you will see it every day. If you spend a lot of time on your computer, put it there. If you spend a lot of time in your car, put a list of your values on the dashboard. I even created a note on my smartphone that reminds me daily what my Top 5 Values are.
Your Top 5 Values should also be the framework for your strategic plan if you run a business, a family, or both. They should be the lens through which you make all your decisions with each opportunity that comes your way. When you are clearly focused on living out your values, you will no longer feel worn out or sold out, but alive and full of energy even on the most challenging of days.
You can't always unclutter your life either without uncluttering your heart. It might be time to dig a little deeper into why you're feeling worn out, or take a look at what has shifted in your life at this stage of the journey.
By reconnecting to your values, I guarantee you will be renewed by your purpose, inspired by your passions, and reinvigorated by your spirit. Stop running on empty and refuel your spirit with the grace, love, and beauty of who you were uniquely designed to be as you walk out your life firmly set by your core value.
